Kynto

Does Kynto run on the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP)?

Kynto on PSP

Kynto has been around for many years. Starting it’s life way back in 2007. Kynto is going back to it’s roots with a port for the Sony PlayStation Portable. This Sony PSP port is a from the ground up exclusive version of Kynto. A lot of effort went in to making this version work in Kynto. As it is not a simple scale down of existing assets. The PSP is not able to handle the real time update tools that the web version of Kynto is built on. It had to be specially designed to update on it’s own in the background as well as support the real time communication that Kynto is known for.

The major constraint of playing Kynto on the Sony PSP

It is important to highlight that while in Kynto. Your not just in a regular room you would be familiar with on any other video game. It is a webpage that is running on a web browser released in 2005. And that the Sony PlayStation portable only has 32mb of ram. With the Sony PSP only dedicating 2mb of the total 32mb of ram to the web browser. Kynto can only tap into that 2mb of ram. Where as a traditional game on the Sony PSP can access the entire 32mb of ram. Especially when you consider that there is built in support to have unlimited room sizes to explore due to the pool render. That are 1:1 with the full sized web browser / console versions of Kynto. No matter what the size of the room is. As well as account linkage between the two.
